👋 Introduction

Welcome to Samanta ("we", "our", or "us"), developed by TigerApps / AKZ Marketing LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application Samanta — Period & Cycle Tracker ("the App").

Samanta is a period and cycle tracker designed around a single principle: your reproductive health data is yours. You log your cycles, symptoms, moods, temperatures, and notes; Samanta shows you patterns, predictions, and insights. Everything is calculated and stored on your device. We never see it, sell it, share it with advertisers, or send it anywhere.

By using the App, you agree to the terms described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. Reproductive health data is sensitive — we treat it accordingly.

📱 Information We Collect

Information You Provide (stored locally on your device only):

• Period start and end dates, flow intensity, cycle length
• Ovulation, fertile window observations
• Symptoms and moods you log (cramps, headache, bloating, energy levels, etc.)
• Medications and supplements you track, with reminder times
• Free-text notes you write on any day
• Life events (pregnancy, loss, breastfeeding, hormonal therapy, etc.) if you choose to record them
• Body measurements you enter: basal body temperature (BBT), weight, sleep hours
• Fertility test results you log: LH tests, pregnancy tests
• Pain zone markers on the body map
• Sexual activity logs (including insemination entries) if you choose to record them
• Your cycle tracking mode: tracking, trying to conceive, avoiding pregnancy, or perimenopause
• Multiple profiles if you use Samanta Pro — each profile's name, emoji, color, mode, and cycle data
• App preferences: language, theme, unit preferences (°C/°F, kg/lb), notification settings, discreet-mode toggle, disguise-mode preferences
• PIN hash (if you set one), salted and hashed on your device — we never see your actual PIN

Automatically Collected Information (by Google Play, not by us):

• Standard Google Play app installation and update metrics (install counts, crash reports, country of install)
• Device type and Android version — as reported to Google Play, not to us

Information We Do NOT Collect:

• ❌ Your name, email address, or phone number
• ❌ Your location or GPS data
• ❌ Your contacts
• ❌ Your payment information (Google Play handles all purchases)
• ❌ Your cycle dates, symptoms, moods, notes, or any health data
• ❌ Your basal body temperature, weight, sleep, or any body-measurement data
• ❌ Your sexual activity, insemination, or pregnancy test data
• ❌ Your medication history
• ❌ Photos, microphone audio, or any device sensors
• ❌ Advertising identifiers (we do not use any)

🔄 How Your Data Is Stored

On your device (local storage):

• All cycles, symptoms, notes, measurements, medications, and preferences are stored in your phone's private app storage
• Data is accessible only to Samanta — other apps cannot read it
• Android's built-in device encryption (on by default for Android 10+) protects this data at rest

Android Auto Backup (optional, handled by Google):

• If you have Google Account backup enabled, Android automatically includes Samanta's data in your personal Google Drive backup (up to 25 MB, same limit as any app)
• This backup is your personal Google Drive — it is NOT sent to us, and it is encrypted by Google in transit and at rest
• You can disable this in Android Settings → Google → Backup
• When you restore your phone or install Samanta on a new device, your data is automatically restored from this backup

Manual backup (optional, you control it):

• In Settings → Backup, you can export a backup file containing all your Samanta data
• This file is saved wherever you choose (Downloads, Google Drive, email, etc.)
• Samanta does not send this file anywhere — only you decide what to do with it

PDF reports (optional, you control them):

• You can generate a PDF summary of your cycle history, symptoms, and body trends — useful for doctor visits
• The PDF is created on your device and saved wherever you choose to share or save it
• Samanta does not upload PDFs anywhere

🩺 Health Data Handling (Google Play Health Apps)

Samanta handles reproductive and personal health data. As required by Google Play's Health Apps policies, we disclose the following:

• We do not sell your health data. We will never sell, rent, or lease any health information to any third party — ever.
• We do not share your health data. We do not transmit your cycle, symptom, or body-measurement data to any server, advertiser, analytics platform, insurer, employer, or government entity.
• We do not use health data for advertising. Samanta displays no ads of any kind and will never display ads based on your health data.
• Health data is used only for the features you see. Your cycle data is used to compute your predictions, charts, insights, and reminders. It is not used for anything else.
• We do not transfer health data to third parties for their own purposes. The only third party that can access Samanta's storage is Android Auto Backup (Google), and only if you have enabled it in your own Google account settings. Google encrypts this backup and stores it in your private Google Drive space.

⌚ Google Health Connect Integration (Pro feature)

If you are a Samanta Pro user on Android, you can optionally import basal body temperature, weight, and sleep data from Google Health Connect — the Android system-wide health data hub used by wearables and fitness apps.

How it works:

• You manually tap "Scan last 30 days" in Settings → Import from Health Connect
• Android shows you Health Connect's permission dialog, where you grant read-only access to basal body temperature, weight, and sleep
• Samanta reads the values from Health Connect and copies them to your device's Samanta storage
• That's it — no automatic syncing, no background polling, no sending data to our servers

Permissions we request (all read-only):

• android.permission.health.READ_BASAL_BODY_TEMPERATURE
• android.permission.health.READ_WEIGHT
• android.permission.health.READ_SLEEP

We do NOT request any write permissions. We do NOT request step count, heart rate, blood pressure, glucose, nutrition, or any other Health Connect data type.

You can revoke these permissions at any time in Android Settings → Health Connect → App permissions → Samanta. Doing so immediately stops Samanta from being able to import.

🔐 Security Features

Samanta provides several opt-in privacy features you can enable in Settings → Security:

• App lock — require a PIN, pattern, or biometric (fingerprint / face) before Samanta opens. The PIN is hashed with a salt on your device; we never see it.
• Biometric unlock — use your device's fingerprint or face recognition. Biometric data is handled by Android and never leaves your device; Samanta only receives a "unlocked: yes/no" signal.
• Discreet notifications — reminders show generic text on your lock screen ("Reminder · Tap to open Samanta") instead of revealing cycle content.
• Disguise mode — change Samanta's app icon and launcher name to appear as a different app (e.g., "Calculator" or "Notes"). Useful for users in sensitive household situations.
• Panic wipe — in extreme situations, a single action clears all your Samanta data from the device.

All these features run entirely on your device. They do not involve any network communication.

📢 Advertising

Samanta does not display any advertisements. There are no banners, no popups, no rewarded ads, no sponsored content. We do not use any ad network or ad SDK.

We will never add advertising to Samanta. This is a permanent product commitment — visible in the app under Settings → "Our Promise."

We especially do not and will never display ads based on health data, menstrual cycle state, pregnancy status, or any other sensitive attribute.

🛒 In-App Purchases

Samanta offers optional in-app purchases processed through Google Play Billing. We do not collect or store any payment information. All transactions are handled securely by Google Play.

Available purchases:

• Samanta Pro ($9.99, one-time) — Lifetime access to Pro features including Health Connect import, multiple profile support (up to 4 profiles), advanced pattern predictions, cycle insights, body trends, and the full PDF doctor report. Pay once. No subscription. No recurring charges.
• Tip the Developer — Optional voluntary tips (Coffee, Pizza, Rocket variants). These provide no in-app benefit beyond a thank-you message.

Tips are voluntary. Samanta remembers a simple counter of how many tips you've sent (stored locally on your device) so it can show a thank-you message. Nothing about tips is sent to our servers.

For purchase refunds, contact Google Play Support. We cannot issue refunds directly because we never receive your payment information.

🔔 Notifications

Samanta sends local notifications for period reminders, medication reminders, and cycle phase alerts. These notifications are:

• Generated entirely on your device
• Never sent through our servers or any push notification service
• Controlled by you — you can disable them in Settings or Android app permissions
• Triggered by the dates and rules you configured, not by any external data source
• Respectful of discreet mode — when enabled, notifications show generic text on your lock screen

If you grant the notification permission, Android may record the permission grant in its own logs — this is standard Android behavior and is not controlled by Samanta.

👶 Children's Privacy

Samanta is rated for users 13 and older in compliance with Google Play's minimum age ratings and COPPA.

Menstrual cycles can begin before age 13. If a younger user installs Samanta, all data remains on their device only — we never receive any of it. Parents or guardians who discover that a child under 13 has installed Samanta should uninstall the app; all local data is removed on uninstall.

We do not market Samanta to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from them. Our age-gating is enforced via the Google Play Store rating system.

🌍 International Users & GDPR / CCPA / UK GDPR

Samanta is available worldwide and is currently localized in 14 languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Swedish, Turkish, Russian, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese.

For EEA / UK users (GDPR and UK GDPR):

You have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your personal data, as well as to object to processing. Because Samanta stores all your data locally on your device, you can exercise these rights directly:

• Access — open the app and view all your data
• Rectify — tap any cycle, symptom, note, or other entry to edit it
• Erase — swipe to delete individual entries, or uninstall to remove everything; or use Settings → Backup & Data → Panic Wipe
• Port — Settings → Backup → Export creates a backup file you own and can move anywhere
• Object — you can stop using Samanta at any time; we are not processing your data in the first place since it never leaves your device

For California users (CCPA):

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to opt out of the sale of personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Samanta does not sell your personal information — we have nothing to sell because we never collect it in the first place. All health data stays on your device.

We do not have copies of your data on any server, so we cannot send it to you or delete it for you from our systems — but we also cannot lose it, be hacked, be compelled by a subpoena to share it, or be sold along with it to a future acquirer.

🏳️ Legal Process and Law Enforcement

Because Samanta does not store any user data on any server, we cannot produce user data in response to subpoenas, warrants, or other legal requests. We have nothing to produce.

If you receive a legal request for your cycle tracking data, the data they seek is on your device, not on ours. We encourage you to consult with a qualified attorney about your rights.

We do not cooperate with data collection efforts by any government, insurer, employer, or other third party — because there is nothing for us to cooperate with. We made this architectural decision specifically to protect our users in jurisdictions where reproductive health data may be weaponized against them.

🔗 Third-Party Services

Samanta uses a minimal set of third-party services:

• Google Play Billing — In-app purchases (Pro unlock and tips). Google handles all payment data. Google Privacy Policy
• Google Play Services — App distribution, updates, and in-app review prompts. Google Privacy Policy
• Google Health Connect (optional, Pro only) — If you use the Health Connect import feature, Health Connect acts as a data source. We receive data through it but never write to it. Google Privacy Policy
• Android Auto Backup (Google) (optional) — Encrypted backup of app data to your personal Google Drive. Controlled by you in Android Settings. Google Privacy Policy
• Flutter (Google) — App framework (open source, no data collection)

Samanta does not use: analytics SDKs (no Google Analytics, no Firebase Analytics, no Amplitude, no Mixpanel, no AppsFlyer, no Adjust), crash reporting tools (no Crashlytics, no Sentry, no Bugsnag), ad networks, Firebase Realtime Database, Firebase Auth, push notification services (no FCM for user-targeted push), cloud functions, machine learning APIs, AI services, social media SDKs, or any behavioral tracking platform.

Our operating cost to run Samanta is effectively zero because we are not sending your data anywhere. This is by design: costs scale with the data you send, and we send nothing.

🗑️ Data Deletion Requests

We respect your right to delete your data. Samanta does not require an account and stores all data locally, so deletion is immediate and complete.

What gets deleted automatically on uninstall or panic wipe:

• ✅ All cycles, periods, and ovulation records
• ✅ All symptoms, moods, and pain zone data
• ✅ All notes and free-text entries
• ✅ All medications, dosages, and reminder schedules
• ✅ All body measurements (BBT, weight, sleep)
• ✅ All fertility test results (LH, pregnancy tests)
• ✅ All life events (pregnancy, loss, breastfeeding, etc.)
• ✅ All profiles (if using multi-profile Pro feature)
• ✅ All preferences, theme choice, language, unit preferences
• ✅ Your PIN hash, biometric preferences, disguise settings
• ✅ Notification settings and reminder schedules
• ✅ Tip counter
• ✅ Your Pro status flag (on this device)

What is retained and why:

• Transaction records may be retained by Google Play Billing for legal and financial compliance — we have no control over this data
• Your Android Auto Backup on Google Drive remains until you disable it or clear it in your Google Account settings
• Manual backup files you exported (to Downloads, email, Drive, etc.) remain wherever you saved them — only you can delete those
• PDF reports you generated and saved elsewhere are outside Samanta's control
• Data you may have chosen to write to Google Health Connect via other apps is not affected — Samanta cannot write to Health Connect, but if other apps wrote data there, that data stays in Health Connect until you delete it from Health Connect
• Your Pro purchase receipt is stored by Google Play, so if you reinstall, you can tap "Restore purchases" to re-unlock Pro without paying again

Delete specific data without uninstalling:

• Individual day log — tap the day on the calendar, edit or remove entries
• Individual cycle — tap the cycle in the calendar, use the menu to exclude or delete
• Specific profile (Pro) — Settings → Manage profiles → delete profile (also wipes that profile's data)
• All data at once — Settings → Backup & Data → Panic Wipe, or uninstall

⚕️ Medical Disclaimer

Samanta is a personal tracking and reminder tool. The predictions, insights, charts, and recommendations you see in the app are calculated from the values you enter and are provided for informational purposes only.

Predictions of fertile windows, ovulation, and next period are estimates based on statistical patterns in your logged data. Individual cycles vary significantly. Samanta's predictions MUST NOT be relied upon as the sole method of preventing or achieving pregnancy.

If you are trying to conceive, experiencing cycle irregularities, planning to stop contraception, or have any reproductive health concerns, please consult a qualified healthcare provider.

Any decisions about medication, supplements, contraception, or reproductive health should be made with a licensed medical professional — not based on Samanta alone.

🔒 Data Security

Because Samanta stores everything locally, there is no central database to breach. The security of your data depends on:

• Your phone's lock screen and encryption (enabled by default on modern Android)
• The in-app PIN and/or biometric lock you can enable in Settings → Security
• Your Google Account security, if you use Android Auto Backup
• Where you choose to save manual backup files and PDF reports

We strongly recommend enabling a device lock screen (PIN, pattern, or biometric), enabling Samanta's in-app lock, and using the same security practices you already use for other sensitive apps on your device.

If your device is compromised, factory-reset, or lost, consider revoking Android Auto Backup from your Google Account to prevent Samanta data from being restored to another device.

🔄 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by:

• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
• For significant changes affecting how we handle your data, displaying a notice within the app on next launch

Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We will not retroactively reduce the privacy protections described in this policy. Our commitment to local-only, no-tracking, no-ads is permanent.
