Welcome to PetVerse ("we", "our", or "us"), developed by TigerApps / AKZ Marketing LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application PetVerse — Pet Health & AI Vet ("the App").
PetVerse helps pet parents track their pet's health, vaccines, weight, symptoms, and care reminders. It also provides AI-powered features including an AI vet chat assistant, an AI food safety scanner, an AI vet record document scanner, and a directory of nearby veterinarians. Some features use AI (Anthropic Claude) to analyze pet products, vet records, and answer pet health questions.
By using the App, you agree to the terms described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Information You Provide:
⚠️ Important: Photos and questions you submit for AI analysis are sent to our secure Vercel API server, which forwards them to Anthropic's Claude AI for processing. Do not photograph or describe documents containing sensitive personal information that is unrelated to your pet.
Locally Stored Data (on your device only):
✅ Your pet records, photos, and care history are stored locally on your device only. We do not store your pet's personal data on our servers.
Automatically Collected Information:
When you ask a question in the AI Vet Chat, the question text and basic pet context (species, breed, age, weight, current medications if you choose to include them) are sent to our API and forwarded to Anthropic's Claude AI for processing. The AI returns a general veterinary information response, which is displayed in the chat and optionally saved locally on your device.
Free users get 3 AI chats per day; PetVerse Pro subscribers get 30 per day. Anthropic may retain API inputs for a limited period for safety monitoring per their Privacy Policy. We do not use your conversations for advertising or any purpose other than providing the response.

The AI Food Scanner lets you check whether a pet food or treat is safe for your pet. When you scan a product:
Free users get 5 scans per day plus optional bonus scans by watching short rewarded video ads (up to 5 extra per day). PetVerse Pro subscribers get 100 scans per day. We do not store the content of your scanned photos on our servers for any purpose other than providing the requested analysis.
✅ We never sell or share the content of your food scan photos with any third party for advertising, training, or any other purpose.
The AI Vet Record Scanner is a PetVerse Pro feature that reads photos of vaccine certificates, prescription labels, and lab results to automatically populate your pet's records.
When you scan a vet document:
⚠️ Important: Vet documents may contain your name, address, or phone number along with your pet's information. Although we do not retain these documents on our servers, the AI processor (Anthropic) may temporarily process this data. Avoid scanning documents containing financial information or unrelated personal data.
PetVerse Pro subscribers get 30 OCR scans per day. This feature is not available to free users.
PetVerse requests access to your device's camera and photo library for the following pet care features:
The camera is only accessed when you explicitly tap a camera or scan button within the app. PetVerse never opens the camera in the background, never takes photos automatically, and never accesses your photo library without your explicit action.
Photos you choose to take or upload are handled as follows:
✅ You can revoke camera and photo permissions at any time in Android Settings → Apps → PetVerse → Permissions. The features that require these permissions will simply stop working, but the rest of the app will continue to function normally.
The Vet Finder feature helps you locate veterinary clinics and animal hospitals near you. This feature is currently available in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.
When you open Vet Finder:
Your location coordinates are used only for the duration of the search request and are not permanently stored on our servers. The list of nearby vets is not saved server-side.
✅ The Vet Finder is free for all users (limited to 50 lookups per day per device for rate limiting). You can revoke location permission at any time in Android Settings → Apps → PetVerse → Permissions.
Your pet profiles, vaccine records, medication schedules, weight tracking, symptom logs, and all photos are stored exclusively on your device using local storage. This data is never transmitted to our servers, except transiently when:
You can delete individual records or entire pet profiles at any time from within the app. Deleting a pet profile removes all associated records and photos from your device immediately.
✅ Your pet's health records stay on your device. We never store them on our servers.
PetVerse can send you reminder notifications for vaccines, medications, vet appointments, and care tasks. Notifications are scheduled and triggered locally on your device — they are not pushed from our servers.
You can enable or disable reminders from the app's settings, and you can customize the daily reminder time. Notifications never include the content of your AI chats, scan results, or other sensitive data.
PetVerse includes a free, built-in library of pet care content:
This content is bundled with the app and does not require any data to be sent to our servers when you view it. Reading articles, browsing toxic foods, or viewing recipes is fully offline.
We do not sell, rent, or share your pet's personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

All local data is deleted when you uninstall the app. You can clear specific data at any time from within the app.
PetVerse free users see advertisements through Google AdMob (Privacy Policy):
AdMob may use a Google Advertising ID and basic device information to serve ads. You can reset or limit this ID at any time in Android Settings → Google → Ads. PetVerse Pro subscribers do not see any advertisements.
We do not show ads inside features for children, and we do not show ads with content unrelated to pets.
PetVerse offers an optional Pro subscription processed through Google Play Billing. We do not collect or store any payment information. All transactions are handled securely by Google Play.
Available subscriptions:
Pro features include unlimited AI vet chat (30/day), AI food scanner (100/day), AI vet record OCR (30/day), no ads, streak freeze tokens, PDF and CSV export, QR code pet sharing, custom themes, home screen widgets, and all future updates.
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Google Play Store account. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period.
PetVerse is rated for users 13 and older. The app uses AI to analyze pet products and answer pet care questions, which requires internet access and API processing. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.

PetVerse is available worldwide. The app interface and AI features currently support English; additional languages are planned. When you use AI features, your data is processed through our API server (hosted in the United States via Vercel) and Anthropic's AI infrastructure. By using the app, you consent to this data transfer.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to access, correct, and delete your data. Most personal data is stored locally on your device, so you can exercise these rights by clearing app data or uninstalling the app. For any data that may be transiently processed on our servers, contact us using the email below.
The Vet Finder feature is currently available only in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia due to data coverage and quality. Users in other regions will see a "coming soon" message and can still use all other features.

We respect your right to delete your data. PetVerse does not require account creation, so most of your data is already stored locally and under your full control.
✅ To delete all your local data: uninstall PetVerse from your device, or go to Android Settings → Apps → PetVerse → Storage → Clear Data.

PetVerse provides pet health information and AI-generated assessments for informational purposes only. The information provided by PetVerse is NOT veterinary advice and should not be used as a substitute for professional veterinary diagnosis, treatment, or emergency care.
⚠️ Important: For pet emergencies, suspected poisoning, severe symptoms, or any urgent concern, contact a licensed veterinarian or emergency animal hospital immediately. Do not rely on PetVerse for emergency decisions.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
